Dentures in Dartford

Here at Kreate Dental, dentures form an important part of our general dentistry treatment range.

What are dentures?

Essentially, dentures are a set of false teeth. They are fitted to sit over your gums and are made up of either an acrylic removable base or metal removable base. You can be fitted with full or partial dentures, depending on your own personal needs.

Why do I need dentures?

Dentures are necessary when your natural teeth are damaged beyond repair, or you have a number of missing teeth. They can help bring confidence back to a wearer and help address any speech or eating issues.

What is involved in the process of getting dentures?

We’ll take an impression of your mouth here at the practice, and your new dentures will be made by a professional lab technician according to your needs and specifications.

If you need to have some teeth removed before getting your dentures fitted, we will do that here at Kreate Dental. If this is the case, we may provide you with a short term denture to wear to restore your smile or there may be a short wait before getting the dentures fitted so that your gums can heal naturally.

What will it feel like after?

It might take a bit of time to get used to your dentures, but you should get used to them quite quickly. Eating and speaking will hopefully be improved in the long term, but you may experience a few initial issues with your new dentures.

You might want to stick to softer foods to begin with and you can try reading out loud to practice any words that are giving you trouble. We’ll also take the time to offer advice on adhesives and how best to look after your dentures and keep them clean.

How long do dentures last?

Dentures should last for between five and eight years.
